Herbivore grazing, livestock production and biodiversity conservation in and around Akagera National Park (ANP), Rwanda
In this study, we are looking for a system that makes it possible to optimizing livestock production for people’s welfare and biodiversity conservation to enhance revenue through ecotourism promotion. We emphasize the role of spatial and temporal variation in herbivore and vegetation abundance, the processes involved in plant-herbivores interactions and their consequences for the dynamics of both plants and herbivores, as well as the relationship between predators and large herbivores to provide objective information for Akagera National Park (ANP) ecosystem managers who have the task to meet environmental and economic objectives.
